In my latest journey, I visited the northern region of China and was enlightened by its beauty and uniqueness. My travels allowed me to discover the wonders of the north, from its natural landscapes to its fascinating traditions. My first stop was Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang province. Known as the "Ice City," Harbin is famous for its annual ice festival where thousands of ice sculptures are on display. I was awed by the intricate designs and the artistic expression of the sculptures. The ice and snow world was the highlight of my trip, where I was mesmerized by the colorful lights that illuminated the snow sculptures. Next was a visit to the ancient city of Pingyao in Shanxi province. With its well-preserved architecture, it was like stepping back in time to the Ming and Qing dynasties. The city walls, old-fashioned streets and traditional shops gave me a glimpse of China's rich cultural history. To immerse myself in northern culture even more, I visited a local family in a nearby village. They welcomed me with open arms and introduced me to their distinct customs, including making vinegar and dumplings. I was amazed at the simplicity and sophistication of their way of life. Finally, I experienced the unique scenery of Inner Mongolia. I stayed in a yurt, a portable dwelling used by nomads, and witnessed their way of life. The vast grasslands, the galloping horses and the warmth of the locals made me feel at home even though I was miles away from my own. My journey to the north wasn't just a physical trip but a spiritual journey as well. It reminded me how diverse and beautiful the world is, and how meeting new people and exploring different cultures can enrich one's life. As I traveled back home, I knew that I left a piece of my heart behind and that I would return to the north one day. In conclusion, my travels to "Marble North" were nothing short of amazing.
